How Mekong Sync Began
Mekong Sync was founded in Bangkok in 2019 by a small team of technology consultants and business process analysts who saw a widening gap between AI's potential and its actual use in Thai organizations. Too many companies were either overwhelmed by the hype or held back by uncertainty — and there was very little support designed specifically for the Southeast Asian business environment.
Our founding idea was straightforward: give businesses a clear, structured path from "we should probably look into AI" to "our teams are using it effectively every day." We did not want to sell software or push particular vendors. We wanted to be the planning, training, and facilitation layer that makes adoption work.
From our first engagement — a three-day discovery workshop with a mid-size logistics company in Samut Prakan — we learned that the biggest obstacles were rarely technical. They were organizational: unclear objectives, siloed teams, and a lack of shared language around what AI could actually do for specific workflows.
Since then, Mekong Sync has grown to work with organizations ranging from family-run enterprises to publicly listed corporations, across sectors including manufacturing, finance, healthcare administration, and professional services. Our office on Charoen Krung Road in Samphanthawong is home base, but our work takes us across the country.
